This day is a blessed day for me and I thank my dearest Jesus for this another miracle. This morning, we went to the hospital for a check-up. I was scared to go because in the x-ray I had last tuesday, my spinal cord had rotated into a S shape and based on what I know, if the rotation is more than 25 degrees, I might have surgery but if it’s less than 25 degrees, I would have a brace on my back. So yeah, I was scared of the possibilities that may occur. But when my pediatrician saw the x-ray, she said to me that there’s nothing to worry about because it was “positional” meaning that the nurse who handled me during my x-ray didn’t properly position me which cause for my spine to rotate. I was relief! I thought I was going to have a brace or a surgery! but Jesus was always good to me and the doctor even said that I’m in good condition nowadays. What a blessing- I said to myself and after that, I know that God wants me share this blessing/miracle to all of you. :) God Bless you all!
Reflection.
I was suppose to post this yesterday but as usual, my tumblr had crashed.
Yesterday was our wednesday service in our church. So we had this bible study and there’s this one verse that really struck me the most.
“When you ask, you do not receive, because you ask with wrong motives, that you may spend what you get on your pleasures.”
James 4:3, NIV
These past few days, I’ve been asking God that may He grant my scholarship for college after submitting the papers this coming Saturday. But then this verse appeared. I was asking God to grant my scholarship not because I want to help my mom on my school expenses but because I want extra money for my wants so that I can satisfy my earthly pleasures. After I’ve read the verse, I felt guilt inside of me. I really am guilty- I’ve never thought that way. I have been overpowered by the material things I see and I never realized that I’m just satisfying myself and not God.
So my advice for all of you is that if you’re going to ask God for something, be sure that it is not for your own sake and pleasure. Ask for something that will make you a better person and a better christian. Just ask God to do his will for you and everything will surely follow.
Prayer: Dearest Lord Jesus Christ, please forgive me for asking something with wrong motives. Please let your will be done and not mine. I know you know what’s best for me. Please make me a better person and a better christian. May you enlighten me in everything I do so that I may be pleasing in your eyes. Thank you for making me realize that I should ask with good motives and not just for my own pleasures. You open my eyes to what is true because you love me. Thank you Lord God for this realization. I love you Lord. Please continue to guide me in the right path so that I may walk in the truth. Amen.
